Second President of the National Council of Austria Fritz Neugebauer in Sabor

Zagreb – Croatian Parliament Speaker Boris Šprem received the Second President of the National Council of Austrian Parliament Fritz Neugebauer who is undertaking an official visit in Croatia.

Expressing his satisfaction with the traditionally friendly relations between Croatia and Austria, the Speaker highlighted the two countries’ analogue ministries cooperation on various projects as well as the active cooperation between Croatian counties and Austria’s federal provinces. “The cooperation between our two parliaments is excellent, and this very meeting is yet another contribution to it”, stated Sprem and renewed his invitation to the President of the National Council of the Austrian Parliament Barbara Prammer to come to an official visit to Croatia. Šprem pointed out that foreign investments were still important for Croatia, primarily in the field of energy industry and rail infrastructure.
 
Fritz Neugebauer informed the Speaker Barbara Prammer accepted his invitation and confirmed the Austrian Parliament would ratify Croatia’s EU Accession Treaty before the House rises for summer recess.

The Second President also met with the members of the Foreign Policy Committee and the members of the European Integration Committee. Foreign Policy Committee Chairman Milorad Pupovac stated Croatia would continue strengthening the ties in three regions: Central European, Southeast European and Mediterranean. Gordan Jandroković, Chairman of the European Integration Committee assured Neugebauer Croatia would still actively support the European path of its neighbouring countries, and especially their developing democratic processes. Talking about bilateral cooperation, plans have been made for further exchange of information on the organization and the functioning of European affairs committees.
