Zagreb - Parliament on Wednesday adopted a new law on non-litigious procedure, replacing a law adopted in 1934, and under the new law courts will continue to settle uncontested divorces.
The intention to have notaries public settle uncontested divorces was scrapped and those cases will be settled by courts, as was the case until now.
Parliament also passed a law introducing the obligation to use the Employee Register and Centralised Payroll (COP) in the state administration and public services for all state budget beneficiaries.
Under that law, public services are also educational institutions founded by the state and local government units, and for which funds for salaries are calculated in the state budget, said Justice and Public Administration Minister Ivan Malenica.
He also explained that the new law is critical for analysing the salary system in the public sector and the strategic planning of human resources.
