Zagreb - Croatia supports Turkey's objectives on its path to the European Union and advocates enlargement and open door policies, Croatian Parliament Speaker Josip Leko said at a meeting with Turkish parliamentarians.
Leko held talks with a delegation of the Turkish Parliament and the Turkish-Croatian parliamentary friendship group, led by Turkish MP Aysa Turkmenoglu.
Leko said Croatia and Turkey had friendly relations and good cooperation as NATO members. Turkmenoglu said Turkey saw all states in the Balkans as its friends and that relations with Croatia had always been friendly. Turkmenoglu also expressed hope that Turkey would be the next EU member.
Leko spoke about possibilities of deepening economic relations, notably Turkish investments in Croatia, and the situation in Syria. He was invited by Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek to visit Turkey next year. (Hina)
