Zagreb - Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković on Thursday received the visiting Saudi Minister for Islamic Affairs, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh.
Jandroković described the relations between Croatia and Saudi Arabia as good and friendly, pointing to the potential of expanding cooperation in many areas of mutual interest.
He underscored that Croatia had set very high standards in the respect for and exercise of minority and religious rights.
The two officials pointed out the importance of inter-religious dialogue and mutual respect as well as coexistence with the aim of creating and preserving permanent peace in Europe and the world.
They praised the work and role of the grand mufti in Croatia, Zagreb Mufti Aziz Hasanović.
The Saudi official spoke about the importance and role of Islam, migrations, and refugees, and the contribution of his country to the struggle against the coronavirus pandemic.
