Questions from Members of the Croatian Parliament to the Government

From the 5th to the 11th convocation of the Croatian Parliament, in the period from 2003 to 2024, the MPs asked the Government of the Republic of Croatia a total of 11,212 questions from Members of Parliament, 7,829 in written form and 3,383 during the plenary sessions, which amounts to an average of 1,601 questions per mandate.

The MPs of the 9th convocation (2016 – 2020) were convincingly the most active. They asked the Prime Minister and ministers 2,890 questions, that is, a quarter of all questions from Members of Parliament asked in the past 20 years.

Over the course of two decades, MPs were most interested in topics from the following public policies: education and science and the health care system, followed by the financing of purposes of public interest with state support and agriculture.

25% of all questions were addressed to the Prime Ministers of the Republic of Croatia, followed by the Ministers of Science and Education, Health, Finance and Agriculture.

Not counting the current, 11th convocation, 11% of parliamentary questions put to the Government in written form remained unanswered.
