Zagreb - The Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Gordan Jandroković, began his official visit to Denmark on Monday with a visit to the National Museum of Denmark, which features exhibits showcasing the connections between Croatia and Denmark.
Jandroković visited the National Museum of Denmark accompanied by the museum's director, Rane Willerslev, and Dr Anne Haslund Hansen.
Anne Haslund Hansen presented her own research relating to specific parts of Croatian cultural heritage, as well as sections of the museum's collection connected to Croatia. She also highlighted numerous connections between the two countries in the fields of culture, art, archaeology, architecture and urbanism, particularly with the cities of Pula, Split and Dubrovnik, according to the press release.
This research is part of Haslund Hansen's scientific work, and for her contribution to Croatian-Danish cultural relations, she was awarded the Order of the Croatian Morning Star with the image of 15th century poet Marko Marulić on 16 January this year.
During his stay in Denmark, Jandroković also met with Croats living and working in the country.
On Tuesday, the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament will meet with his host, the Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Soren Gade. Later, he will be received by King Frederik X.
