
Zagreb - The Sabor’s Committee on the family, youth and sport has issued a Public Call for the selection of the Ombudsperson for Children, who is appointed for a term of eight years with the possibility of reappointment.
The deadline for submitting applications is 15 days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette (Narodne novine).
The current Ombudsperson for Children, Helenca Pirnat Dragičević, was appointed on 17 November 2017.
According to the 2017 Act on the Ombudsperson for Children, the Croatian Parliament is required to publish a public call for the selection of a new Ombudsperson no later than three months before the end of the current term, or within 30 days if the post is vacated for any other legally defined reason.
Based on the applications received through the public call, the relevant committee shortlists at least two candidates and submits the shortlised candidacies to the national legislature.
