Zagreb - The parliamentary Committee on Information, Computerisation and the Media on Thursday endorsed a report on the work of the Hina Steering Board in 2021 by six votes in favour, one against and one abstention.
Hina Steering Board president Majda Tafra-Vlahović said that in 2021 the three most important achievements were successful business operations, professional and efficient work of journalists and other employees, and successfully completed projects.
In difficult conditions, caused by the pandemic and the consequences of the 2020 earthquake, Hina continued to successfully fulfill its legal function as a public service, credibly and comprehensively informing the public and publishing more content than in the previous year, she said.
Through a number of services, the agency delivered nearly 224,000 articles, photos, and audio and video recordings to its users, which is approximately 9,000 more than a year earlier, Tafra-Vlahović said.
In 2021, Hina saw a slight decline in market revenue, however, it made up for it in 2022 when it recorded the highest growth in total revenue, especially market revenue, of 10% over 2021.
In 2021, total revenues amounted to €3.3 million, and profit to €83,500.
Hina has successfully implemented several projects co-financed by EU funds, Tafra-Vlahović said.
