Zagreb - Parliament will vote for a revised budget for this year on Friday after discussing about 100 amendments submitted to the draft revision on Wednesday.
Most of the amendments have been submitted by Bridge, which asks that the state ensures more money for infrastructure projects, prevention of violence against youth, school transport, and for parents of children with disabilities.
Bridge also wants HRK 100 million to be earmarked for electricity vouchers for households which use more than 2,500 kWh.
A similar amendment has been submitted by Katarina Peović of the Workers' Front, requesting HRK 100 million for vouchers for at-risk energy buyers. She also suggests that the state should no longer finance commemorations for victims of all totalitarian regimes, but redirect the HRK 100,000 envisaged for that towards wages in education.
Boška Ban Vlahek of the Social Democratic Party submitted a number of amendments focusing on needs and projects in Međimurje County.
During last week's debate, the opposition criticised the draft 2022 budget revision, saying it shows that the government is using inflation to fill the state budget, while giving citizens scraps.
The ruling HDZ rejected these arguments, saying the government is rationally managing finances.
The draft revision increases revenues by HRK 758.2 million to 171.8 billion, while expenditures stay at HRK 184.7 billion. The deficit is forecast at HRK 12.9 billion, or 2.8% of GDP.
