Zagreb - Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković extended greetings on Wednesday to the Jewish faithful in Croatia on the occasion of Hanukkah, expressing hope that this year it will serve as a herald of peace amidst growing global challenges.
"On behalf of the Croatian Parliament and personally, I extend my sincerest congratulations to all Jewish faithful in Croatia on the occasion of Hanukkah," Jandroković wrote.
He said Hanukkah carries a strong symbolism of freedom, light, and hope. "At the same time, it always vividly reminds us of the faith, resilience, and perseverance demonstrated by the Jewish people throughout history, no matter how demanding the trials they faced."
"May this year, in a world facing increasing challenges, Hanukkah be a herald of peace, which is so desperately needed by all. May it bring an abundance of blessings and health to all faithful families, allowing them to celebrate the holiday in prayer, true unity, and joy," Jandroković said.
"Once again, I wish all Jews around the world a happy, blessed, and peaceful Hanukkah. Hag Hanuka Sameah!" he concluded.
