Zagreb - Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković on Thursday held talks with European Council President Charles Michel on parliamentary meetings to be held during Croatia's presidency of the EU.
Michel is visiting Croatia on the occasion of the beginning of Croatia's EU presidency.
The two officials discussed the main priorities of Croatia's presidency, and Jandroković acquainted Michel with the programme and topics of parliamentary meetings.
Jandroković said that Croatia was chairing the EU at a time when Europe was faced with numerous internal and external challenges and that representatives of member-states' parliaments would have an opportunity to contribute in dealing with them.
Jandroković and Michel also discussed current topics in the EU on which Croatia will be coordinating joint positions in the next six months - the withdrawal of Great Britain from the EU, the Multiannual Financial Framework and the enlargement policy.
