
Zagreb - Sabor Speaker Gordan Jandroković, and Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal agreed on Tuesday in Zagreb that there is room to strengthen economic ties in the defence industry, and that Croatia and Estonia share similar views on many European and global issues.
The statement highlights that there is significant potential to boost economic ties in the defence industry sector.
"The cooperation agreement between the Croatian Defence Industry Competitiveness Cluster and the Estonian Security and Defence Industry Association is already yielding tangible results, encouraging stronger connections between specialised Croatian and Estonian companies. There is significant potential for cooperation in the IT sector and in the digitalisation of public administration".
Jandroković and Michal, who was on an official visit to Croatia, stated that the two countries have compatible positions on many European and global issues.
Full solidarity with Ukraine
Full solidarity with the Ukrainian people was expressed by the two officials who strongly condemned Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.
Jandroković emphasised the importance of continuing all forms of assistance to Ukraine, while the Estonian PM provided an overview of the situation from the perspective of a country that directly borders the aggressor and highlighted the security challenges Estonia faces.
Jandroković conveyed that Croatia places particular importance on the activities of NATO's forward land forces and contributes to the security of the Baltic region by participating in NATO missions in Poland and Lithuania.
The Sabor chairman also called for the intensification of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and welcomed the introduction of direct air connections from Tallinn to Split and Dubrovnik.
