Zagreb - The Croatian Parliament on Friday approved the government's revision of the 2025 state budget, increasing total revenues by €30 million to €33 billion and reducing expenditures by €223 million to €36.8 billion.
MPs also backed a €1 million amendment put forward by HDZ's Magdalena Komes for the construction and equipping of the secondary School of Economics in Sisak.
The opposition filed 52 amendments seeking higher allocations for some items and cuts for others, but all were rejected.
Komes explained that the School of Economics in Sisak lost its premises after the 2020 earthquake and that the new funding will help complete the new site.
The government said the revision aligns the budget with decisions made since its adoption, securing over €1 billion for pension increases, salaries, and social and parental benefits.
The revision passed with 76 votes in favour, three abstentions and 49 against.
