Croatia, China mark 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations

Zagreb - The Republic of Croatia and the People's Republic of China marked the 25th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations and the 68th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China by a spectacular 15-minute Chinese fireworks, held in the Roman Arena in the northern Adriatic city of Pula on Friday.

Pula is the fourth city outside China to host such a grand event, after Rome, Paris and New York. The theme of this celebration is "Together into a brighter future" by which we want to send out a message that we can have a bright future if we join forces, Chinese Ambassador to Croatia Hu Zhaoming told the press before the event. The ambassador added they also wanted to present Pula to Chinese tourists as a tourist destination.

The celebration was also attended by Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković who said this event symbolically represented "our connectedness", bilateral relations and the bright future. Jandroković stressed Croatia wold continue to support the One-China policy and China's territorial integrity and state sovereignty.(Hina)
