About permanent delegation
At its 1st session on 24 May 2024 the Croatian Parliament adopted a Decision appointing a Delegation of the Croatian Parliament to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly is an international organization serving the role of an inter-parliamentary advisory body within the NATO Alliance.
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly is made up of 269 delegates from the 30 NATO member countries. Each delegation is based on the country's size and reflects the political composition of the parliament, therefore representing a broad spectrum of political opinion. Delegates are nominated by their parliaments according to their national procedures.
In addition to NATO country delegates, delegates from 11 associate countries, 4 Mediterranean associate countries, as well as 8 parliamentary observer delegations take part in its activities, bringing the total number of delegates to approximately 360.
When the Republic of Croatia joined the NATO Alliance on April 1, 2009, the Delegation of the Croatian Parliament to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly was given the status of a fully-fledged delegation within the Assembly.
The Delegation of the Croatian Parliament to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly has five members and, pursuant to the Standing Orders of the Croatian Parliament, the status of the working body of Parliament.
