European Centre for Parliamentary Research and Documentation (ECPRD)

The ECPRD (European Centre for Parliamentary Research and Documentation) is an inter-parliamentary cooperation and information exchange network comprising correspondents from national parliaments and operating under the authority of the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The Centre was established in 1977, at the proposal of the speakers of European parliaments. The main aims of the ECPRD are to promote exchange of information, ideas, experience and good practice among the parliamentary services of the ECPRD Member States. The information network represents a unique forum where questions are put and answers are provided on subjects pertaining to national parliaments’ everyday work. The Centre is administered by correspondents who coordinate all the activities related to the ECPRD. When the Republic of Croatia was admitted to the Council of Europe in 1996, the Croatian Parliament became an ECPRD member and since then has actively been involved in the Centre’s work.
