Zagreb - The chairman of the Croatian Parliament Committee on Home Affairs and National Security, Miroslav Tudjman, and the chairman of the Committee on Defence, Tomislav Ivic, met on Thursday with a visiting delegation of the Montenegrin Parliament Committee on Security and Defence.
The Montenegrin delegation was on a study visit to Croatian security and defence institutions, organised by the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF). The chairman of the Montenegrin committee, Mevludin Nuhodzic, said that Croatia and Montenegro were constantly cooperating in various areas, which further reaffirmed and advanced their relations. Nuhodzic thanked Croatia for helping Montenegro on its path to EU membership with its experience from the accession process, citing the Croatian translation of EU legislation. The talks focused on the security and defence institutions in the two countries, their organisational structure and the legislative framework for their work. Also discussed was the recent departure of a group of Croatian troops for Afghanistan where the 21st Croatian Contingent also includes Montenegrin troops.
Nuhodzic invited the two Croatian committees for a reciprocal visit to Montenegro, according to the statement. (Hina)
