Zagreb - Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković on Wednesday called on all Members of Parliament do donate a part of their salary for December to help earthquake victims in Sisak-Moslavina County.
"Fellow Members of Parliament, we are witness to the great tragedy caused by the devastating earthquake that befell numerous inhabitants of Sisak-Moslavina County, as well as the rest of Croatia," the Speaker Jandroković said.
Unfortunately, he added, according to currently available information, seven human lives have been lost. The earthquake has also caused great material losses and financial damage which we can make up for together.
I invite you to join the numerous Croatian citizens who are selflessly helping all victims and to show solidarity, just like after the Zagreb earthquake in March, he said. I suggest that all of us together give up a part of our salary for December and donate the money to the Croatian Red Cross or Caritas Croatia, he said.
Thank you in advance to everyone who will respond to the call, as well as for every other help you are already providing, said Jandroković, who is on Wednesday touring Petrinja and Glina, the cities that sustained the most damage in the devastating earthquake that occured on Tuesday.
