Zagreb - The Croatian Parliament on Friday unanimously adopted amendments to the Act on the Restriction of the Use of Tobacco and Related Products, introducing the term "heated tobacco products" and banning the use of flavours in them, as well as the sale of nicotine-containing products to minors.
The amendments, passed under fast-track procedure, incorporate an EU directive into national legislation concerning the withdrawal of certain exemptions for heated tobacco products.
The changes regulate the labelling of heated tobacco products, which are considered smoking tobacco products by their characteristics, and prohibit the sale of nicotine products to persons under the age of 18.
