The Sabor decided on the composition of all of its working bodies but the Committee on Human Rights and the Rights of National Minorities

Zagreb - The Sabor on Friday decided on the composition of all of its working bodies but the Committee on Human Rights and the Rights of National Minorities, and elected several delegations.

The Sabor appointed Jelena Miloš (We Can!) as the chair of the European Affairs Committee, Andro Krstulović Opara (HDZ) as the chair of the Foreign Policy Committee, and Ranko Ostojić (SDP) as the chair of the Domestic Policy and National Security Committee.

The parliament also decided that the Defence Committee will be headed by Arsen Bauk (SDP), the Finance and Budget Committee will be chaired by Boris Lalovac (SDP), the Economy Committee by Igor Peternel (DP), the Tourism Committee by Sanja Radolović (SDP), the Committee on Labour, Pension System and Social Partnership will be headed by Mišo Krstičević (SDP), the Health and Social Policy Committee by Ivana Kekin (We Can!), the Family, Youth and Sports Committee by Vesna Vučemilović (Independent), the Committee on Croats Abroad by Zdravka Bušić (HDZ), and the War Veterans Committee by Josip Đakić (HDZ).

The chair of the Committee for Physical Planning and Construction will be Predrag Štromar (HNS), the Committee on Environment and Nature Protection will be chaired by Dušica Radojčić (We Can!), the Committee on Education, Science and Culture by Vesna Bedeković (HDZ), and the Committee on Agriculture by Marijana Petir (Independent).

The Committee on Regional Development and EU Funds will be headed by Ivana Mujkić (DP), the Committee on Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure by Stipo Mlinarić (DP), the Petitions and Complaints Committee by Željko Jovanović (SDP), the Committee on Interparliamentary Cooperation by Kristina Ikić Baniček (SDP), the Committee on Information, Computerisation and Media by Josip Borić (HDZ), and the Gender Equality Committee by Marija Lugarić (SDP).

Mirela Ahmetović (SDP) was elected as the chair of the National Council for Monitoring the Implementation of the Anti-corruption Strategy.

Earlier, the Sabor elected HDZ members Ivan Malenica, Krunoslav Katičić and Pero Ćosić as chairs of the committee on the Constitution, on legislation, and on elections and appointments, and Robert Jankovics as the president of the Credentials and Privileges Commission.

 

The Sabor appointed the majority of delegations

The Sabor also appointed its delegations to the parliamentary assemblies of the Council of Europe, NATO and OSCE, headed by Davor Ivo Stier (HDZ), Dario Hrebak (HSLS) and Mihael Zmajlović (SDP).

Igor Peternel was chosen as the head of the parliamentary delegation to the Parliamentary dimension of the Central European Initiative, and Nikolina Baradić and Danica Baričević of the HDZ were appointed as heads of the Croatian parliamentary delegations in the parliamentary assemblies of the Mediterranean and the Union for the Mediterranean.

 

Sabor to recess until the end of European elections

The Sabor was informed of the Croatian National Bank's (HNB) semi-annual report on the financial situation, price stability and the implementation of monetary policy in the second half of 2022 and the first half of 2023, and it accepted reports on the revision of the state budget for 2022 and on the operations of the national broadcaster HRT for the same period.

After the voting session ended, MPs went into recess until the end of the European parliamentary elections, on 9 June.
