Zagreb - Parliament Speaker Josip Leko has received Eurochambres president Richard Weber, who is visiting Croatia at the invitation of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) and he welcomed the talks on an HGK reform.
Weber said Eurochambres had three main goals, which were also the reasons for his visit, professional education, innovation in the industry strategy and dealing with the issue of high energy costs in industry.
Welcoming the talks on an HGK reform, he said it was important to focus on small and medium enterprise as the foundation of the European economy, the statement said.
Leko recalled that Croatia's economic situation was significantly affected by the situation in the European Union with which 70 percent of Croatian business people cooperated.
Eurochambres is an Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry encompassing more than 20 million companies from 45 European countries. Croatia has been a member since 2000. (Hina)
