Zagreb - Croatian-German relations are traditionally very good, both on the federal and state levels, and North Rhine-Westphalia is a particularly significant economic partner to Croatia, Croatian Parliament Speaker Josip Leko said on Tuesday after meeting with his counterpart from that German state, Carina Goedecke.
Trade between Croatia and North Rhine-Westphalia amounts to EUR 400 million, he said. "Economic cooperation is proceeding well, but it can certainly do better... We must work on attracting investments."
Goedecke confirmed that relations between Croatia and Germany, and Croatia's cooperation with Germany's 16 states were indeed good.
"The relations between the Croatian parliament and the German federal and state parliaments are very good. This is a bridge that connects us, which doesn't need to be built. It is here and we must only continue to go along this bridge," she said.
Croatia and Germany have a dynamic parliamentary cooperation and also cooperate within the European Union, she and Leko said. (Hina)
