First sitting of New Parliament next Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Zagreb - President Zoran Milanović has convened the first sitting of the new Sabor in Parliament House on Wednesday, 22 July at 10 a.m. 

Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković sent the President's decision with invitations to all lawmakers on Thursday.

Jandroković congratulated them on being elected to the Sabor and wished them lots of success in the 10th parliament since Croatia's independence.

He informed parliamentarians of the agenda that will be proposed during this first sitting after the parliament speaker is elected, whereby the Sabor is inaugurated. Jandroković will be elected Parliament Speaker for a second term in office.

According to the Agenda, Parliament has to elect the Credentials and Privileges Commission, which will submit a report on the July 5 election, after which MPs will take the oath.


Election of deputy speakers and four committees

The agenda also includes the election of deputy speakers and four committees (Committee on the Constitution, Standing Orders and Political System, Legislation Committee, Physical Planning and Construction Committee, and the Elections, Appointments and Administration Committee) as well as a proposal to dismiss and appoint a deputy parliamentary secretary and secretary for plenaries. 

Jandroković called on all MPs to adhere to all epidemiological measures, informing that face masks and disinfectant will be available in Parliament House.
