Amendments to laws from agricultural sector on Sabor's agenda on Wednesday

Zagreb - Croatia's parliament on Wednesday will discuss draft amendments to the Agriculture Law, which are designed to reduce fraud risks and fraudulent use of European Union funds for the farm sector.

Also, a discussion on draft amendments to the legislation on deciduous trees and shrubs will be on the Sabor's agenda tomorrow. The changes aim to provide for more efficient control of the cultivation of those trees.

The government, which tabled the draft amendments, wants to protect agricultural land against exploitation for non-agricultural purposes.

It also wants to make sure that agricultural land with lower soil ratings can be used for the generation of energy from renewable sources.
