Zagreb - Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković was received in Ottawa on Thursday by Governor General of Canada Julie Payette, who represents Queen Elizabeth II, and they said the bilateral relations between the two countries were excellent.
Jandroković was the first foreign official to be officially received by Payette, who stepped into office earlier this month.
The two officials exchanged opinions on possible cooperation in science, research and innovation in production. Payette said she visited Croatia and that it was a wonderful country, adding that the introduction of Canadian airlines' direct flights to Croatia was a good economic link.
Jandroković said Croatia and Canada were allies and cooperated well in NATO. The two officials said the large Croatian community in Canada was an important link between the two countries. (Hina/Press Office)
