Zagreb - Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković on Tuesday received the visiting Albanian president Ilir Meta
Jandrokovic and Meta agreed that Croatia-Albania relations were traditionally friendly and very good, free of outstanding issues.
They also assessed that the declaration on strategic partnership signed by the two countries last year additionally reinforced their bilateral ties.
Jandroković underscored Croatia's support for Albania's European membership prospects, and expressed regret at the recent decision by the European Council not to give the green light to the opening of accession negotiations with Tirana, despite a positive opinion of the European Commission.
Earlier in the day, Meta was received by his host, Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. On Wednesday, he is due to meet with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
