Zagreb - Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković on Thursday sent Christmas greetings to believers who celebrate it according to the Julian calendar on behalf of lawmakers and on his own, underscoring that the spirit of Christmas encourages people in facing life's challenges.
"May the Christmas atmosphere, that joyful Christian holiday, bring warmth, love, and prosperity to your homes, with wishes that you celebrate it in peace and happiness surrounded by your families, loved ones, and friends," Jandroković wrote in his message.
He underscored that the spirit of Christmas encourages all in facing life's challenges, especially during this period of the crisis caused by the pandemic and destructive earthquakes. "We are called upon to show humanity through mutual understanding and respect as well as solidarity with those who are most in need."
"Christmas is a time that inspires us to strengthen unity and seek similarities that connect us and overcome those things that divide us. It also reminds us of the importance of much-needed optimism and tolerance in society and the strength of dialogue, cooperation, and acknowledgment of our differences. May Croatia move on with those thoughts. I wish you a Merry Christmas. God's peace," said Jandroković.
