Zagreb - Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković on Wednesday met with Cardinal Josip Bozanić in the Parliament, thanking him for his service of more than 25 years as Zagreb Archbishop and commitment in running the Zagreb Archdiocese.
Jandroković underlined the cardinal's long-lasting care for the community of Croatian Catholic believers as an exceptional example of spiritual leadership, stressing also his important contribution to the overall development of the Croatian society.
"In the 34 years since Cardinal Bozanić's appointment as bishop, events that stand out are the three papal visits and the beatification of Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac, whose canonisation the faithful in Croatia are eagerly awaiting," Jandroković said after the meeting at which he and Cardinal Bozanić concluded that the relationship between the Catholic Church and state institutions in Croatia is based on dialogue and cooperation.
The retired Zagreb Archbishop thanked Parliament Speaker Jandroković for his openness to constructive cooperation and wished him success in further performing his duties and Jandroković wished the cardinal good health and spiritual strength in continuing his dedicated service for the benefit of the Church in Croatia and its members.
