Croatia and Hungary Set an Example of Positive Neighbour Relations

Budapest - Bilateral relations between Croatia and Hungary are traditionally good and fructuous and as such they set an example of good neighbourly relations, concluded the Croatian Parliament Speaker Boris Šprem and his Hungarian host Mr Laszlo Köver.
 
“This was an opportunity for us to confirm the excellent friendly ties bonding our two countries and two nations and to conclude we set an example of good neighbourly relations to others”, stated Mr Šprem after the meeting with the Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly Mr Laszlo Köver." The two Speakers confirmed there was a mutual interest in fostering the strategic partnership particularly in the field of energy safety.
 
Mr Šprem said the emphasis of the talks had been put on inter-parliamentary relations, cross-border cooperation and joint projects. He thanked his Hungarian colleague for all the support Hungary had been giving Croatia on its path towards Euro-Atlantic integration as well as for the Hungarian Parliament’s swift ratification of Croatia’s EU Accession Treaty. He informed Mr Köver of the process of ratification of the Treaty by other national parliaments of EU Member States and of the reforms being implemented in Croatia. Talking about the situation in the region of Southeast Europe, both Speakers expressed their support for Euro-Atlantic future of the countries in the region. During his official visit to Hungary, the Croatian Parliament Speaker is scheduled to meet the Hungarian Prime Minister and the Foreign Affairs Minister. (Hina/Internet Editorial Staff)
