Zagreb - Parliament Speaker Željko Reiner and India's Minister of State for External Affairs, Vijay Kumar Singh, met on Thursday in Zagreb and discussed strengthening relations between Croatia and India.
"The talks focused on strengthening cooperation between Croatia and India in all fields of mutual interest, particularly economic relations and trade," a parliament press release says.
Reiner and Singh agreed that there was potential for Indian companies to invest in Croatia's energy sector projects like hydro, thermal and geothermal power plants and gas grids as well as to participate in major water management and transport infrastructure projects, the press release says.
Croatia and India have an opportunity to cooperate in various fields such as parliamentary and defence cooperation, tourism, new technologies, the film industry and much more, Singh said.
"I see huge opportunities for advancing economic cooperation, particularly as regards the export of Croatian quality military equipment considering that one of the Indian government's main priorities is to upgrade the defence system. The Rijeka port can also be a point of entry for Indian products to central and eastern European markets," Reiner underscored. (Hina)
