Zagreb - Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković on Thursday met with an Austrian parliamentary delegation led by the chairman of the Permanent Sub-Committee on EU Affairs of the National Council, Reinhold Lopatka, and the chairman of the EU Committee of the Federal Council, Christian Buchmann.
The officials assessed the two countries' relations as excellent, traditionally friendly and very substantial at all levels of government and in many areas.
Parliamentary cooperation will contribute to the further development of bilateral relations, which requires regular cooperation between committees on issues of common interest as well as at the level of parliamentary speakers, it was said.
Jandroković once again extended an invitation for the president of the National Council of the Austrian Parliament to visit Croatia.
Also discussed were all current topics in the European Union, with Jandrokovic informing the Austrian officials of Croatia's priorities during its chairmanship in the first half of 2020 (economic growth and employment; connectivity; security and enlargement), as well as the situation in Southeast Europe, notably Bosnia and Herzegovina.
